This beautiful 19th century table incorporates fine early 18th century exotic hardwood and ivory marquetry elements of exquisitely detailed flora and insects. Edges, inlaid aprons, single drawer and incorporated elements date from mid-19th century. Front and sides below top inlaid.
Marquetry, veneers and ivory inlays retain old patina. Light French Polish wax finish over mellow walnut tones.
Shrinkage and slight warping to top add character. Old worming to base filled and stabilized.
