Very fine transitional federal carved serpentine top candlestand, with rounded edge top tipping on a turned urn form column, raised on arched cabriole legs with shaped pad feet (one old repair). Salem, Massachusetts, circa 1785-90. Birch block, top turned 90 degrees. Rich nutty color and dense timber.
