This secretary employs classic Gothic arches in its upper doors, which are generally in-filled from behind with either fabric or left open as a bookcase, given the full shelving. The upper pediment retains its original open scrolled fretwork above a beautifully matched crotch grain mahogany cornice. This secretary has a long open top drawer which supports a hinged lid below two small upper drawers with large pressed glass period knobs. The sides are solid, one-piece boards with characteristic rounded edges . The bottom doors are paneled with molding also characteristic of this period. All is supported by beautifully shaped bracket feet with a scrolled apron. This secretary is in pristine condition and retains a beautiful amber glow.
