Mews

View Antiques Specialty: Showcasing over 90 professional antiques dealers

The Mews opened in the heart of the Dallas design district in 1992 and quickly became a favorite haunt of interior designers. Encompassed in two buildings and filling 25,000 square feet, the Dallas location serves design communities from California to New York. More than 90 very professional dealers of antiques are "stalled" in this unique setting.

What exactly does our name mean? The word "mews" is rooted in London, England. Around 600 years ago it was the name of the royal stables at the Charing Cross, which were built on the spot where the royal hawks were kept-or mewed. A mew was a hawk's cage where the bird could molt. Later, an English poet used the word mews to describe non-royal buildings in an alley for parking carriage horses; thus, the inspiration for the name of the stores. Today, these original stables are chic London townhouses, referred to as "the mews".

We proudily announce the 2008 opening of a new shop and decorating studio in Marble Falls, located next to Horseshoe Bay Resort. Owner Doris Hart, who is known for her exquisite flair and taste, wanted to add design services to the already existing antiques. Here, you can enjoy beautiful treasures in a warm elegant atmosphere with a south of France feel.
